Sioux Falls law enforcement to host Citizen Police Academy

The Sioux Falls Police Department and Metro Communications will host another Citizen Police Academy this spring.

It consists of training in topics such as police patrol procedures, K-9 operations, crime scene processing, crime prevention, and investigative methods of fraud, narcotics, theft and assaults.

Metro Communications will also conduct presentations on their function and how the 911 Center works.

The 2019 session begins March 7 and ends May 10.

Classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. for nine weeks at the Sioux Falls Law Enforcement Center located at 320 W. 4th St.

Class size is limited. Those interested must be at least 18 years of age to attend. Applications are due by Feb. 15.
