Gun owners no longer need a permit to carry a concealed pistol in South Dakota.
The measure was signed into law back in January but didn't take effect until July 1.
It was previously a misdemeanor for someone to carry a concealed pistol or to have one concealed in a vehicle without a permit. South Dakota joins 13 other states with similar laws.
