UPDATE: Crews still working to clear grain after derailment

UPDATE, 12:00 p.m. 3/27:

Crews are still working to clean the grain that spilled following a derailment in central Sioux Falls.

According to Burlington Northern Santa Fe Spokesperson Amy McBeth, six loaded grain cars derailed Monday just before noon near the 10th Street viaduct in central Sioux Falls.

No one was hurt in the derailment. McBeth said the cause of the derailment is still under investigation.

BNSF hopes to have the grain cleanup finished late Tuesday or early Wednesday. There is no word yet on how much grain was spilled.

A train hauling grain has derailed in downtown Sioux Falls.

The accident happened around noon near the 10th Street viaduct. At least two cars tipped over and spilled grain.
