SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - The owners of a Sioux Falls movie theater hope to be back open Friday, following a weekend fire.
Fire Rescue were called to the Western Mall early Sunday morning. They found smoke and flames coming from the roof and interior of the West Mall 7 Theatre. They knocked down the flames within ten minutes.
Investigators believe a burned HVAC unit on the roof caused the fire.
One of the owners of the theatre was on scene as fire crews worked and told KSFY News what went through his mind as he surveyed the damage.
"You go from being very upset to being very concerned," said Todd Frager, West Mall 7 co-owner. "And then you're releived, and you feel fortunate because it could've been way worse. We could've been open, my people could've been hurt."
No one was hurt in the fire.
