SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KSFY) - The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire (BGCSE) was selected for the first ever Downtown Winter Event Grant, a program designed to encourage activity downtown during the winter months and
foster a sense of community.
The grant, sponsored by Downtown Sioux Falls Business Improvement District (BID) and
Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc (DTSF) will reimburse BGCSE up to $5,000 for the event.
Events and proceeds raised from Sioux Falls Winter Carnival will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire’s mission to nurture, educate and enrich children and youth for lifelong success.
"Building a strong community is a key component to creating great futures for kids, by getting involved in impactful projects with the city we are helping to teach our kids through leading by example. We are thrilled to have been chosen for this grant and the opportunities it will offer," Amy Sumner said. Sumner is the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire Director of Philanthropy.
