But with so many people, the world of online dating can be a dangerous one, with people trying to steal both identities and money from legitimate users. The service Backgroundchecks.org says that 1 in 10 dating site users are scammers. Some of the best ways to avoid getting roped into such traps: Do some research on pictures and profiles by searching an image used by the person. Keep conversations on the site instead of a personnel number, leaving a record file. If you do meet in person, go to a well lit and busy place, alerting a friend to were you are or bringing them with on the date.
