Officials say a fast-moving storm through the Black Hills made driving treacherous in some spots and presented a challenge for voters heading to the polls on Tuesday for a Rapid City school bond election.
The heftiest snow totals came out of northeast South Dakota and southwest Minnesota where over a foot of snow occurred Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Reports are also official as of 11 AM CST Monday. Keep in mind, these are reports. Snowfall totals may vary depending on where you reside.
The Public Works Street Division has declared a snow alert beginning at 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2019. Plowing of emergency snow routes began Sunday, December 29, 2019, and will continue until routes are clear. All vehicles parked on emergency snow routes are subject to ticketing and towing.
